Position: EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER
Alain Gauthier first joined the Montreal Canadiens organization in 1987 as Director of Operations when the club’s headquarters were located at the Montreal Forum, on Ste-Catherine St. and Atwater. Involved in various aspects of the construction of the then-known Molson Centre, Alain was promoted to Vice President, Operations, Bell Centre, in 2000 and, subsequently as General Manager of the facilities in 2011.
He is also responsible of all building operations at the Bell Sports Complex, the Canadiens’ practice facility in Brossard, on Montreal’s South Shore, and assumes similar responsibilities for all building-related operations at the new 10,000-seat venue to be known as Place Bell set to open in the City of Laval.
Alain Gauthier works closely with the Laval management team on the functional plans and follows up on the progress of the construction. He also supervises several departments totaling more than 800 employees. A key player in the construction of the Molson Centre back in 1996, as well as the Bell Sports Complex over a decade later, Alain Gauthier is a member of several boards of directors. He holds a diploma from École Polytechnique de Montréal.
