Position: DIRECTOR OF MEDIA RELATIONS
Dominick Saillant enters his 20th year as a member of the Canadiens Communications Department, and his 14th as Executive Director of Media Relations. He is responsible for all aspects of the club’s media relations on a daily basis. He began his career with the Ottawa Senators when they entered the NHL in 1992, before joining the Canadiens in August 1996. He was recruited by the National Hockey League Public Relations Department on three occasions, including the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals. In the summer of 2005, Dominick worked at the FINA World Aquatic Games, held in Montreal, as Director of the Press Center. Over the past five years (2011 to 2015), Dominick has been one of the Canadiens representative in Le Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, a 1,000-km cycling marathon to promote healthy life habits among young people and support hereditary orphan disease research through the GO Foundation’s scholarships and grants. In 2014, he was loaned to Hockey Canada to look after media relations for the Canadian Team at the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia, where Canada earned a well-deserved gold medal.
A native of Montmorency, a suburb of Quebec City, Dominick Saillant earned a Bachelor in Communications from the University of Ottawa in 1990.
