Donald Balmforth


Before graduating from McGill University in 2004 with a B.Sc., PT, Donald originally began his on-field training as a student therapist for the McGill Redmen football team from 2001 to 2003. Donald went on to continue his involvement with football in the role of training camp and game day assistant for the 2002 to 2004 Montreal Alouettes, also staying on as the team’s part-time physical therapist during the 2005 season.

Donald began his work with the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club in 2006 and has been their physical therapy consultant since. He is also known for his work with numerous international and Olympic athletes from a variety of sports including figure skating, freestyle skiing, snowboard cross, bobsleigh, and Tae Kwon Do.

For the past five years, Donald has also served as Director of Physical Therapy for Concordia Physio Sport NDG, a private orthopedic practice in Montreal, as well as the liaison between the clinic and McGill University. More recently, Donald has joined the Catalyst Santé team in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, striving to provide excellence in physiotherapy for professional, amateur, and recreational athletes.
