Most Memorable Moments Against The Rangers
The man behind the mask

On November 1, 1959, at Madison Square Garden, Jacques Plante would change the face of hockey forever. After being struck in the face by a shot from the Rangers’ Andy Bathgate in the opening moments of the match, a bloodied Plante left the ice to receive medical attention. He soon returned wearing the now iconic mask, and led the Canadiens to a 3-1 win over the Rangers.
